Power Factor Correction and Power Quality
We use measurements to assess your facility’s reactive power requirement and how the existing correction system behaves under different load conditions.
Having a power factor correction panel does not mean the facility is correctly balanced under every operating condition. New machines, a different shift pattern or worn capacitor steps change the system’s behaviour over time.
We examine your existing system with measurements taken under different load conditions and assess the state of the steps, controller and capacitors. Where loads with harmonics are present, we keep in mind that this effect must be assessed separately.
Scope
- Review of the existing correction system and power factor controller
- Measurement plan across different load conditions
- Assessment of the step arrangement and capacitor condition
- Reassessing reactive power needs when the facility grows
- Identifying cases where harmonic effects need separate study
How we work
- 1
Reviewing records
We review consumption records, the machine list and existing panel data.
- 2
Measurement
We measure under the facility’s different operating states.
- 3
Assessment
We show under which conditions the system falls short or over-compensates.
- 4
Recommendations and work
We define the required changes and can carry them out if you wish.
Frequently asked questions
Let’s assess your facility’s needs together.
Contact us about a problem in your existing facility, a planned capacity increase or a new investment, and we will clarify the requirement together.
